Dear Mix for Kids Members, Project Partners, Donors and Supporters,

2023 marked a small but significant anniversary for our still young association: five years ago, we founded the non-profit with just seven members. Since then, Mix for Kids has grown to 126 members who all play a role, just like our donors, in enabling us to ease the burden on disadvantaged children and teenagers and get help where it is most urgently needed.

The past five years have seen us dedicate a total of 200,000 euros to launching and supporting social projects across Germany, Albania, India and Ukraine. In Germany, for example, this money has allowed boys and girls from the Geesdorf Children’s Home to enjoy several vacations together and, more recently, has helped young visitors take part in a range of free-time activities at “Spieli”, the children’s club in Würzburg. In Albania, meanwhile, our help means neurodivergent children are able to receive compassionate individual care at school, while in India Mix for Kids runs educational courses to equip street children with the tools to secure their futures. And these are just a few examples of the many aid projects we support and carry out with experienced local partner organizations.

We were, therefore, particularly pleased at our general meeting in November to receive first-hand reports from the project managers in Vadodara, Shkodra and Würzburg, who all joined us online. We are fortunate to find ourselves in a solid financial position and are glad to announce we will continue to be able to support all existing projects on the same scale moving forward next year. That said, just like other aid organizations, we are nonetheless noticing that inflation is seeing a fall in donations – both in terms of the amount of donations and the number of donors.

Nevertheless, we are looking to the future with confidence and would invite anyone wishing to get involved in the organization’s work or with ideas for our projects to get in touch with the Mix for Kids board.
