14,150 euros from Kräuter Mix
What a sum! The Abtswind-based company Kräuter Mix has donated an impressive 14,150 euros to Mix for Kids thanks to two separate Christmas-related campaigns. This year, the company, which supplies herbs, spices and ingredients for teas all around the world, decided that instead of giving small gifts to its business partners it would instead donate 10,000 euros to Mix for Kids. “Our social responsibility efforts include regular donations to the non-profit,” said managing partner Bernhard Mix. “Mix for Kids, which supports aid projects in Germany, India and Albania, is very close to our hearts.”
But that’s not all – Kräuter Mix employees donated a further 4150 euros. The family business, which has been the charity’s largest supporting member since the association was founded five years ago, once again gave gifts to its staff to mark the winter break, as it does every year. Various vouchers were up for grabs with something for everyone, including vouchers for restaurants, flowers, wine, a Christmas tree or for a wellness treatment at the swimming pool or sauna.
However, 83 employees decided to forgo their gift, instead opting to support children in need, with Kräuter Mix donating 50 euros for each employee. “More than 15 percent of our employees chose to give back as their present this year,” said HR manager Sabrina Klinger. “It’s an impressive mindset toward taking social responsibility.”
Managing partner Bernhard Mix, who is also vice-chair of Mix for Kids, oversaw the symbolic handover of the donation alongside board member Gertraud Mix and HR manager Sabrina Klinger.
