Homemade iced tea and chilled cocktails from the company Kräuter Mix were a welcome source of refreshment at Abtswind’s Genussortfest (Town Festival of Indulgence). In a treat for all the senses, visitors were able to explore what the small town with its 800-strong population and 600 jobs has to offer at more than a dozen stalls run by associations, independent retailers and businesses.

On this hot summer day, Kräuter Mix apprentices and employees sold drinks for a good cause: the company donated the proceeds of 250 euros to Mix for Kids. The event also saw association members explain the non-profit’s goals and projects, with a number of visitors to the Genussortfest signing up to Mix for Kids at the stall.

The stall also hosted a quiz on herbs and spices with spice mixes up for grabs as prizes. The recipes for the spice mixes come from a self-help group in a disadvantaged Indian neighborhood supported by Mix for Kids.
