Visit Rolvin D’Mello

Members of Mix for Kids and employees of the company Kräuter Mix received first-hand information about life in India, the work of the Don Bosco Brothers in the orphanage and the slums of the city of Vadodara: Father Rolvin D’Mello, the long-time director of the Don Bosco aid organization in Mumbai, made Abtswind a stop on his Germany trip. Kräuter Mix Managing Directors Christoph Mix and Silke Wurlitzer, who also serves as the chairwoman of Mix for Kids, were delighted about the four-day visit and had put together an entertaining program for the guest from India.

During a factory tour that included production and storage halls, Father Rolvin learned how the Kräuter Mix team processes the spices from his home country. He also took the opportunity to cheer on the boys and girls at the Mix for Kids Soccer Day in Abtswind and told them about the aid projects in India.

Ever since Mix for Kids was founded, the non-profit organization has been cooperating with professional, experienced partner organizations. At the time of the association’s beginning in 2018, Chairwoman Silke Wurlitzer and Project Manager Dr. Paula Torres Londoño traveled to India to get a better idea of the situation there and find suitable institutions for children-focused aid projects. Ultimately, they chose to support the orphanage of the Don Bosco Brothers in Vadodara.

Don Bosco Mondo is a non-governmental organization dedicated to international development cooperation. It supports disadvantaged children and teenagers worldwide irrespective of denominational and ideological differences. Through schooling and vocational training, the young people are given the opportunity to create a life based on self-determination and dignity. The organization has local outlets – the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Don Bosco Sisters – in over 130 countries.
