A packed program for a whole host of kids
Art or junk? Who will find the treasure? How can we give old boxes a new lease of life? These were just a taste of the many activities on offer at the Nature Experience day in Feuerbach, Germany, where more than 60 children between the ages of six and eleven and their families enjoyed a packed six-hour program of fun and games designed to learn and grow. After the popularity of last year’s event, plenty of the children came back for more this year too.
Under specialist supervision, the children explored the stream, tried their hand at making paper, searched for treasure on a scavenger hunt, put their acting abilities to the test, roamed the forest, built an insect hotel, honed their memory skills, filled their own tea bags, mixed spices and all round got creative. As a bonus, everyone was treated to popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream and campfire bread – all free of charge. Meanwhile, the Würzburg clown doctors made sure to keep everyone entertained.
The free Nature Experience day, which took place for the second time this year, was made possible thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers and helpers from Mix for Kids, the Bund Naturschutz, the “Löwe von Schönborn” scouts, the Frauenbund, the “Heimat erhalten – ökologisch gestalten” working group, the Bayerische Forstverwaltung, the Umweltstation Kitzinger Land and FC Feuerbach.
