Vacation time and a new recreational space
Beaming faces all around and a big surprise at the Children and Adolescents’ Home in Geesdorf (Germany) as the welfare institution received 3,000 euros from Mix for Kids. Silke Wurlitzer, the head of the charity, broke the good news to the boys and girls as well as the director of the home, Cornelia Süpitz, and the chair of the board of trustees, Monika Hessmann. This donation will allow the children and teenagers a joint vacation over the school break. Some of the money will also go towards furnishing a recreational space in the home.
The Geesdorf Children and Adolescents’ Home was established in 1977. Nine boys and girls from difficult family backgrounds are cared for there around the clock by educators and social workers. They attend schools in the vicinity and actively participate in the town’s social life as well as clubs and associations.
