Out and about for a good cause

Kräuter Mix trainees host campaign day to mark International Children’s Day
Doing good and making it known. That was exactly what the young people involved in this year’s trainee project did on Friday, May 30, 2025 to raise awareness for non-profit Mix for Kids. Over the course of half a working day, the trainees and dual work-study program students set up a small Mix for Kids stand across busy locations to inform passers-by from Wiesentheid, Kitzingen and the surrounding area about the children’s aid projects supported by the charitable association from Abtswind. The group brought along a wheel of fortune and small prizes such as homemade flower seed gifts with the goal firstly of promoting the work of the association and collecting donations but also of bringing joy to local people and children to mark International Children’s Day on June 1.
The idea behind the Mix for Kids campaign day
The inspiration for the campaign day came from the young Kräuter Mix employees themselves! Every year, Kräuter Mix holds trainee projects on a range of key topics. This year, the team set about brainstorming how they could help raise greater awareness of the children’s aid association in the local area.
Their solution: word-of-mouth advertising on International Children’s Day
Spending the time with people in the local area, talking to them directly about the work of the non-profit – an idea as old as time from the Mix for Kids trainees but nonetheless impactful for that. And a clever touch to launch the campaign just before International Children’s Day (June 1) at a time when children, children’s rights and the unique needs of and hardships faced by children in more than 145 countries around the globe are in the spotlight.
A big thanks to the locals who supported Mix for Kids in Wiesentheid and Kitzingen
All that was needed now were local supporters who could offer the Mix for Kids association a stage to present the work of Mix for Kids. The trainees got to work visiting, calling and emailing and managed to recruit several companies who generously offered the trainees a place to platform the charity by allowing them to pitch a stand at their premises. A big thank you goes to the Edeka Tetzlaff supermarket, Fackelmann’s Backstube bakery and the Esso gas station in Wiesentheid as well as to the Kaufland supermarket in Kitzingen!
And of course, thank you also to everyone who showed an interest in Mix for Kids and their aid projects in Albania, India, South Africa and Germany and to those who made donations or would like to donate!
