In normal years, carol singers dressed up as the Three Wise Men go from house to house on January 6, offering Christian blessings for residents and collecting money for needy children. Unfortunately, this was not possible during the Covid-19 pandemic, and so the carol singers paid a virtual visit to people’s homes instead. Johanna and Barbara Geiger and Emma Albert performed the words of blessing via a video on the YouTube channel of the Protestant church in Abtswind (Germany), while local pastor Beate Krämer passed on her best wishes for the New Year. Instead of placing bills and coins into a collection box, those watching the event were able to transfer their donations to the church’s bank account, which forwarded the money in full to Mix for Kids – a total of 410 euros.
